Statement on the Targeted Repression of Journalists in Afghanistan

We, the Civil Society and Human Rights Institutions of Afghanistan, express our deep concern regarding the targeted repression of journalists in Afghanistan. The Taliban, a machine of oppression and terror, have violently gripped the throat of truth.
A regime that fears the voice of the pen has waged war against awareness through torture and imprisonment.
Journalists—the awakened conscience of society—are being silenced one by one: either behind bars or in forced exile. Suppression, abduction, death threats, and torture are only fragments of the dark reality in today’s Afghanistan.
With the black face of ignorance, the Taliban have declared war on the media. Under the shadow of global silence, cameras are smashed, pens are burned, and the tongue of truth is stitched shut.
Freedom of expression in Afghanistan is suffocating while the world watches in silence. This land has turned into a graveyard of journalists—and the Taliban are the grave-diggers of truth.
A regime that fears questions is built on lies and fear. The Taliban are not a government, but an anti-human, anti-civilization project.
We, the civil society organizations, consider this systematic crime to be a crime against humanity. No regime has ever endured by silencing pens and shutting mouths.
We warn: continuation of this situation will plunge Afghanistan into a dungeon of absolute silence. If the international community does not act today, it will stand ashamed before history tomorrow.
We demand justice, accountability, and an end to the Taliban’s lawlessness. Journalism is not a crime; silence in the face of this injustice is.

بیانیه در خصوص سرکوب هدفمند خبرنگاران در افغانستان

ما نهادهای جامعه مدنی و حقوق بشری افغانستان نگرانیهای خود را در مقابل تارگت قرار گرفتن خبرنگاران در افغانستان عمیقاً بیان میکنیم. طالبان، ماشین سرکوب و وحشت، با تمام قساوت بر گلوی حقیقت چنگ انداختهاند.
رژیمی که از صدای قلم میهراسد، با شکنجه و زندان به جنگ آگاهی آمده است.
خبرنگاران، این وجدانهای بیدار جامعه، یکییکی خاموش میشوند؛ یا در سلول، یا در تبعید. سرکوب، اختطاف، تهدید به مرگ و شکنجه، تنها بخشی از واقعیت تاریک امروز افغانستان است.
طالبان با چهرهی سیاه جهل، به رسانهها اعلان جنگ دادهاند. در سایهی سکوت جهانی، دوربین میشکند، قلم میسوزد و زبان حقیقت دوخته میشود.
آزادی بیان در افغانستان در حال خفگیست و جهان با لبهای بسته تماشا میکند. این سرزمین به گورستان خبرنگاران بدل شده است؛ و طالبان گورکنان حقیقتاند.
رژیمی که از پرسش میترسد، بر پایهی دروغ و ترس استوار است. طالبان نه حکومت، که یک پروژهی ضدانسانی و ضدتمدنیاند.
ما نهادهای جامعه مدنی، این جنایت سیستماتیک را جنایت علیه بشریت میدانیم. هیچ نظامی با سرکوب قلم و بستن دهانها پابرجا نمانده است.
ما هشدار میدهیم: ادامهی این وضعیت، افغانستان را به سیاهچال خاموشی مطلق میکشاند. جامعهی جهانی اگر امروز اقدام نکند، فردا در برابر تاریخ شرمنده خواهد ایستاد.
ما خواهان عدالت، حسابدهی و پایان بیقانونی طالبان هستیم. خبرنگاری جرم نیست؛ سکوت در برابر این ظلم، خود جنایت است.
