Subject: Illegal Detention of Mr. Ahmad Mojtaba Mohammadi, Spokesperson of the People’s Unity Council of Parwan Province, Human Rights Activist, and Official Representative of the Institutions of Civil Society and Human Rights of Afghanistan in Iran
The Institutions of Civil Society and Human Rights of Afghanistan express their deepest concern and regret regarding the illegal detention of Mr. Ahmad Mojtaba Mohammadi, a prominent human rights activist and the official representative of ICSHRA in Iran. After being forcibly expelled from Iran by Iranian authorities, Mr. Mohammadi was arrested and imprisoned by the intelligence authorities of Parwan Province on 24 August 2025, just one week after his return to Afghanistan.
Mr. Mohammadi is a dedicated human rights defender who has worked for years to promote justice, freedom of expression, and civil rights. His detention constitutes a clear violation of fundamental human rights and freedoms and is contrary to all international human rights standards.
We strongly condemn this act and demand the immediate and unconditional release of Mr. Ahmad Mojtaba Mohammadi. We also call upon the United Nations, international human rights organizations, the European Union, Amnesty International, and independent media to exert pressure on the relevant authorities to prevent further human rights abuses.
Human rights are non-negotiable. The freedom of civil society activists is a principle, not a privilege.

موضوع: بازداشت غیرقانونی آقای احمد مجتبی محمدی، سخنگوی شورای اجتماعی وحدت مردمی ولایت پروان، فعال حقوق بشر و نماینده رسمی نهادهای جامعه مدنی و حقوق بشری افغانستان در ایران
نهادهای جامعه مدنی و حقوق بشری افغانستان با نهایت تأسف و نگرانی اطلاع میدهد که آقای احمد مجتبی محمدی، فعال برجسته حقوق بشر و نماینده رسمی ICSHRA در ایران، پس از اخراج اجباری از ایران توسط مقامات ایرانی، تنها یک هفته پس از بازگشت به افغانستان، در تاریخ ۲۴ آگست ۲۰۲۵ توسط استخبارات ولایت پروان بازداشت و زندانی شده است.
آقای محمدی یکی از مدافعان متعهد حقوق بشر است که سالها برای تحقق عدالت، آزادی بیان و حقوق شهروندی فعالیت کرده است. بازداشت ایشان نهتنها نقض آشکار حقوق بشر و آزادیهای اساسی است، بلکه اقدامی است که با تمامی معیارهای بینالمللی حقوق بشر در تضاد میباشد.
ما این اقدام را شدیداً محکوم نموده و خواستار آزادی فوری و بدون قید و شرط آقای احمد مجتبی محمدی هستیم. همچنین از سازمان ملل متحد، نهادهای بینالمللی مدافع حقوق بشر، اتحادیه اروپا، عفو بینالملل و رسانههای آزاد میخواهیم تا با اعمال فشار بر مقامات مربوطه، از ادامه این رفتارهای ضدحقوق بشری جلوگیری کنند.
حقوق بشر قابل مذاکره نیست. آزادی فعالان مدنی یک اصل است، نه امتیاز.
